World History Dark Ages
There was a lot of sickness because they thought soap was dangerous. There was no police or government and that meant there was a lot of crimes and bad stuff happening. Society was made up of kings, lords, nerchants, and the peasants that worked for them. It was called the Dark Ages because there was a lot of ignorance.

Frederick Douglass Passage: He was probably the son of the master that owned him. Frederick's mother lived at another plantation about two hours away by walking. He only got to see her sometimes at night when she could sneak away. She died when he was seven and he didn't even get to see her before she was buried.
